The Weight (Take a load off)
I packed my camera bag this morning for a short hike in the wicklow mountains. The route was nothing too strenuous, I had taken it before and had some definite shots in mind. Into the bag went my Mamiya RB67, a light meter, a Pinholga that was sent to me by Moni as part of a film/camera swap, eight rolls of film and my tripod.
I often carry all this gear but just as I was about to leave today I thought it might be nice to just take one camera and my iPhone. So into my small bag I packed the pinhole camera and my iphone. I have been making an effort to keep a visual diary with the iphone so I have found that I am getting more creative with it on a daily basis.
I mostly shot with the super light pinholga but also had fun with the phone, trying out some long exposures and the in-built filters. I really enjoyed taking pictures today and while part of me missed the Mamiya, I was glad of a very light load on the way back up the hill.
