The Weight (Take a load off)

IMG_6666 - 2014-03-08 at 11-40-11

I packed my camera bag this morning for a short hike in the wicklow mountains. The route was nothing too strenuous, I had taken it before and had some definite shots in mind. Into the bag went my Mamiya RB67, a light meter, a Pinholga that was sent to me by Moni as part of a film/camera swap, eight rolls of film and my tripod.

I often carry all this gear but just as I was about to leave today I thought it might be nice to just take one camera and my iPhone. So into my small bag I packed the pinhole camera and my iphone. I have been making an effort to keep a visual diary with the iphone so I have found that I am getting more creative with it on a daily basis.

I mostly shot with the super light pinholga but also had fun with the phone, trying out some long exposures and the in-built filters. I really enjoyed taking pictures today and while part of me missed the Mamiya, I was glad of a very light load on the way back up the hill.

It funny I mostly just pointed it at things a thought, humm seems about right. I looked through the finder once and sort of said to myself, seems legit 🙂

I actually do use my iphone as well.. I take a quick shot with the phone to get a general idea of the composition.

    Just love your results!
I often pack too many cameras, “just in case”, and instead of being creative, I get frustrated. So I have begin to learn that it is better to miss one of them, and don’t hesitate over which one to use. The results are getting so much better this way.
    Have a great weekend!

Thanks Marie, I have to say it was a real joy to just have one option for a change – it allowed me to focus – pardon the pun 🙂
