Let’s Wrap # 1

The first in a series were I chronicle what fillings I have in my lunch time wrap. I don’t have wraps too often but when I do I like to explore new taste combinations.

My choice of filling is generally based on my mood and I rarely approach the deli counter with a fixed idea. Even as the chef is preparing my wrap I’m changing my choices as my eyes dart among the choices on offer.

So today it was:

  • Plain wrap
  • Mayo
  • Rocket
  • Beetroot
  • Pickled gherkins
  • Red onion
  • Edam cheese

It tasted ok and filled a lunchtime hole but I feel that the Mayo would have been better substituted with a light chilli sauce.

This is very exciting, as I am still in search of a go-to lunch that is easy. What do you use for the wrap? Is it a big tortilla? What is Rocket and gherkins? This seems like it could be a promising idea for lunch….

Google tells me that you might call rocket “arugula” and gherkins I think is what you call pickles. The wrap is indeed a big tortilla. This sort of think i have now instead of a sandwich.

Thanks! I answered some of my own questions when I went to the grocery store and bought a package of “wraps” from the tortilla section. 🙂 looking forward to trying it for lunch! I didn’t know arugula was also called rocket. I love arugula.
